Born April 10, 1949 in Guilford County, he was a son of the late Fred Otis "Jack" Kennedy and the late Cornie Robbins Kennedy. Kennedy is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Ann Mc Carn Kennedy of the home; sons, Rodney Kennedy and wife Stephanie of Winston-Salem, and Shannon Kennedy of Thomasville; granddaughters, Ryane and Jordyn.

She was married to Clayton Cobb who preceded her in death.She was also preceded in death by brothers, J B Nance, Clinard Nance, Lester Nance and Glenn Nance and by sisters, Faye Everhart and Hazel Elliott.She is survived by a son, Phillip Cobb and wife Carol of Staunton, Va; daughters, Nancy Beane and husband Dwight of Trinity and Karen Koch and husband Andrew of Virginia Beach, Va.A service to celebrate Gladys'life will be held on Tuesday, February 6th, at 2 pm, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Pastor Carl Pulliam and Mrs. Interment will follow in Randolph Memorial Park Cemetery.Her family will receive friends on Tuesday from until pm at the funeral home.
